    Writing Christmas letters early. Geese look well ‘we shall have one & Bill & Joe & Joe is having one for his foreman at Basingstoke…I shall certainly try & rear some another year all being well – they are such nice creatures.’ Joyce’s Nativity Play at the Church on Thursday and Sunday. And then at the Chapel and at Moggerhanger Sanatorium. Mrs John Godber died about a month ago and Mrs Joseph has been very ill again. Has had a cold but went to Bedford yesterday ‘Shopping is an awful business, you want a very long purse these days. I cannot bring myself to buy these expensive toys for children, it seems all wrong & gives them quite a wrong idea of values.’ Parson settling down. Olive going home for Christmas. Expects Joe & Frank and their families. Robin was over for a week as Miriam had laryngitis.
