Trying to find enough candidates for the bishop to have a confirmation at Willington. Have started a magazine club. Went to a bridge party likes bridge better than whist. Ike has been buying implements for Harrold. Big sale at The Priory as Sir John Anderson has ‘gone smash…it was just an ordinary farm house but they bought it out of war profits & did a lot to it, they bought some of the Lodge farm land, some of the worst they say & gave a big price for it seems to me that’s wat a good many of the war profiteers did, we heard Putnams were getting low down. Frank very fond of music. Long letters from Elsie and Edith. Possibility of estate duty. Would like to go on the Sunday after Dad’s birthday. ‘Our old man John died last week he was always very much interested in dad – partly I daresay because he used to give him a shilling when he came.
