    Internal memorandum referring to a local farmer who has reported to the School Governors that a large amount of potatoes have been lost from his field which adjoins the school playing field. Access has been gained from several places around the boundary of the school fence and a gate. A small sketch map of the school site with the unauthorised boundary entry points to the fields marked. Dated 19/08/1975. Two specification and quotations from a company to waterproof the swimming pool. Dated 24/11/1975. Request for repairs to be carried out after a break in at the Caretakers dwelling on 11/06 1976 and vandalism to the pump house on 16/06/1976. A letter from the Estate Office Southill Park Biggleswade stating that children from the school were going through a hole in the fence and wanting to know when the fence would be re-erected so that they can inform their tenant. Dated 07/12 1976. A letter from the Estate Office Southill Park Biggleswade recalling that the Council purchased off the Estate in April 1956 or thereabouts, 13.755 acres of land in Elstow Parish. One of the conditions was that the Council would erect and maintain a 5ft chain link fence on the western, eastern and southern boundaries. At the moment there is a large hole in the north western corner where children are getting through to the Estate. Dated 27/10/1976. Internal memorandum from the Conservation Officer of the planning department regarding the Mansion Ruins at Elstow Abbey. Repair work needs to be carried out so that there is not a danger to the public or to the monument. The DoE have verbally given scheduling clearance for the urgent repair. Dated 12/01/1977. Internal memorandum regarding as to whether it is the County Council or the Whitbread Estates that are obtaining tenders for the erection of a five foot high fence to the western boundary of the school. Dated 26/07/1977. Internal memorandum stating that the County Council are obtaining tenders for the five foot high wire mesh boundary fence as this is what was agreed to in the sale of the land as drawn up on 22nd December 1954 between the Vendor Simon Whitbread and the County Council. Dated 09/08/1977. Vandals cause damage to 3 large windows in the East wing stairway, smashed locks and damage to the greenhouse. It was reported to the Police. Dated 09/09/1977. Dated 02/04/1980. An order for the removal of obsolete equipment and the supply and installation of two replacement sewerage pumps is placed with Tuke and Bell Ltd of Lichfield Staffordshire. Dated 02/07/1980. Minutes of a meeting of the Education planning and General Purpose sub-committee. Dated 15/10/1980. The County Architects Department are in dispute with the flat roof resurfacers as damage was caused to the gym flooring after a heavy downpour of rain on the day of installation. Dated 19/11/1980. A request from the Headmaster for permission for a self help group to erect shelving in a storeroom. Dated 12/05/1981. Bedfordshire County Council Fire Service Department fire safety inspection report form of an inspection carried out on 10/04/1981. Fire Safety inspection on 02/04/1980 and Safety Precautions for the use with LPG cabinet type heaters information sheet is enclosed. A Certificate of Analysis for a sample of air filters in the boiler house find that they are satisfactoryand are within the limit of the Asbestos Regulations. Dated 24/06/1980. A letter from the Headmaster regarding the fact that there are only two female staff W.Cs. for the use of 19 members of staff and he thinks that this is inadequate. He asks if they could advise him on this matter. Dated 08/08/1981. A property damage report that a flag pole had been broken off at the base when a school bus entering the playground area from the drive, collided with the flagpole. Dated 09/09/1981. Chief Fire Officers full report (8 pages)of an inspection carried out on 14/10/1981. A letter from the Headmaster saying that the staffroom is in a poor state and that they are considering redecorating it on a self help basis. He asks if consideration could be given to installing an extractor fan in the staffroom. Dated 20/10/1981.
