- Scope and ContentThanks for cake and chutney recipe. Ike biked to Palterton on Saturday and back Sunday night ‘I was glad to see him back safely’ George’s wife expecting first baby any time. 12 years since Bill was born ‘I hope he will grow up a good boy – he has some nice qualities but they sometimes seem very much overgrown with tiresome ones; I expect it’s the way with all boys at times. Have just heard that Kitchener & his staff have been sunk on their way to Russia. If true – isn’t it appalling? What shall we do without Kitchener? We seem to have some bad reversers. Personally I cant see that the Sea Battle was much of a victory. I’m wanting badly to see the papers as I saw last week the Prince of Wales would probably soon visit the Russian front do hope he wasn’t with Kitchener.’
