- TitleExamination of James Parsons of Luton: he is a maltster working for Wiliam Gregory. He went with his son George to break up the fire in the malting, when his son noticed that three hams had gone from the kiln. He went outside and found "Jack the Sweep" [John Stedfast] in a hovel, and accused him of taking the hams with Cherry. They followed other footmarks which led them to William Cherry in a hovel in Mr Cook's yard.
