Lord Russell and with the Hon Lady Anne, late Countess of Warwick decd. whose exors are Wm. Lord Russell and ? Arnold Muldsworth Esq and ? Ric. Dunford gent. 17 Feb 1594/5 £20,000 Edw. Earl of Bedford & Countess of Warwick 10 May 1603 £20,000 same to Wm. Lord Russell 7 Feb 1606/7 £40,000 same to Wm. Lord Russell with the intent of restraining the Earl from selling certain manors, houses and lands which came to him from his ancestors and so that these should come to those who succeed him in the Earldom according to former conveyances made by some of the ancestors of the Earl and Lord Russell. reciting: that the Earl and w. Lady Lucy, Contess of Bedford with consent of Wm. Lord Russell conveyed (bargain and sale) the Manor and park of Melchbourne to (ii) and heirs of Eliz., and also the Rectory of Melchbourne and the advowson of the vicarage of Melchbourne] covt. that if the manor, park and parsonage of Melchbourne shall be extended, taken or executed upon by virtue of these recognizances by (i) (ii) to retain the premises.
