  • Scope and Content
Black eye and face now recovered. Mrs Harris, her little girl and governess and the Fitzharris's make up the company. Yesterday there was a yeomanry review of about 70 gentlemen and tradesmen. Fitzharris is an officer and Charles [assumed to be Charles Amyand Harris] a private; Mrs Robinson saw Charles for the first time in military apparel. The evening before was a ball which Mrs Robinson did not attend., but Mrs Harris was amused there till 4 in the morning. All the gaieties end today when the colours are given, there is then a dinner and ball. Mrs Robinson hopes the little Goderich boy [George Frederick Samuel Robinson] has got rid of his swelled face. Grateful to Lady de Grey for all she has said to Lord Goderich regarding Mr Benson. Everyone talks of going to Town to attend the House of Lords next week. If all is well and quiet in November, Mrs Robinson will make her usual trip to Town and will hope to see Lady de Grey at St.James' Square. Mention of books - servant has been asked to forward them. Mrs [Maria Theresa] Lister, nee Villiers, is to have a child. [Note: written in the third person - perhaps penned by another.]
