Notes on the Fir Tree, includes former contents of CRT130FLITW/8. The site was owned by the Fane family from 1797 to at least 1876 when it became an unnamed beerhouse owned by Thomas Fane and leased to William Billington as a tied house of Charles Wells. It was first licensed in 1857. In 1891 it was first named the Fir Tree and was owned by Morris & Co, occupied by William G. Odell. By 1927 it was owned by J.W. Green of Luton and occupied by E. Dix.
