  • Scope and Content
Writer was glad to show Frederick [Frederick John Robinson?] a new walk by the river and other things that have been done since he was at Durnford; he arrived in time for a walk of an hour. He stays at Wilton today, and returns to Town on Friday. Last letters received from Newby Hall were not as favourable in their account of the little boy [Frederick William Robinson], but it was only mentioned as a slight return of his ailment. Has been waiting to hear from Alfred 'respecting this servant of Sir John Warren, who was mentioned to Alfred by Mr Garlic to who he immediately applied.' No answer has yet been received. 'Perhaps in the meantime you and Mr Godsell will make it up...' Thanks for venison - Lady Fitzharris [Harriet Maria Harris] arrived in time to partake of it. Has been reading [James Justinian] Morier ['A Journey Through Persia, Armenia & Asis Minor' published 1812]. Asks about Persepolis. Best wishes fo rthe new year.
