  • Scope and Content
Comments relataing to the possibility of invasion -the King has commanded the writer's brother to Weymouth and Mr Wyndham is to go with him. Catherine [the writer's niece], has likewise been commanded and the writer has been appointed chaperone of the expedition, though this will not prevent her visiting Lady Lucas about the 24th or 25th August. Alfred [nephew] will meet the writer at Wrest for a day before both set out for Newby Hall, arriving about 3rd September. Has good accounts of the family at Newby Hall.
