    Four books: 1. Small red note book dated 1888 containing proverbs and sayings in the front taken from Chinese, Arabian, Turkish, Bengali, Hebrew, Danish and Sanskrit. In the back quotations from Shakespere, Pope, Milton, Sheley, Locke, Longfellow and Benjamin Franklin. 2. Tortoiseshell ledger containing telegrams and letters of condolence on the death of Henrietta's husband. Some in Greek, some French and some English, most with black borders. These include a letter from the employees of Messrs. Argenti and Schilizzi & Co, 43 Finsbury Circus, with six signatures. 3. Black notebook dated 1882/3 containing notes on the origins and development of language, followed by general ancient historical facts with dates. Some quotaqtions in the back. 4. Large red book with card pages, possibly a photo album or scrap book. Containing Newspaper cuttings, most in English, some in Greek and French. Various relating to law e.g. divorce, Breach of Promise, bancruptcy, wills. Some theatre reviews. Births, deaths and marriages. Of interest: Ambrose Argenti is fined 9s 6d with costs of £2 13s 6d for stopping a train by pulling the communication cord simply because he wanted to get off! He pleaded guilty.
