Letter from Katherine Gertrude Robinson, Durnford, addressed to Lady Lucas, Wrest. Thanks for the half buck which arrived in good condition yesterday, having travelled from Proiry Garden with some moor game and pineapples that Lady Grantham sent; assumes the moor game is from the young mens sports on Mrs Allansons moors, where they were to celebrate the 12th August.

Sisters feast is fixed for tomorrow, and to do justice to the entertainment she has invited the general commanding the district and one of the knights of the shire for Wiltshire. Sorry that Lady Lucas' departure from Wrest will prevent the writer visiting her there. Plans a visit to Newby Hall next year, and may be able to visit Wrest either going or returning. Asks after the health of Mrs Box. Celebrated James' coming of age in a quiet way last Monday. [James Edward Harris, later 2nd Earl of Malmesbury, born 19 August 1778]. Will be pleased when able to congratulate Lady Lucas on her nephew's majority, and Lady Grantham getting rid of Chancery and all it's appendages [Refers to Thomas Philip Robinson, who became 3rd Baron Grantham on his coming of age]
