- Scope and ContentHave got Mr & Mrs Granville Vernon staying and Sir Henry Willoughby, but the weather is not very good for rides and drives to show them Studley. Writer has had a bad toothache. Mama and Papa rode to see Mrs Laurence the other day – she was well and on good spirits – she has got a macaw which occupied her time and is a great interest to her. All very busy settling books, and having difficulty finding room for them; have filled every corner and shelf of the library and billiard room. Lord Chesterfield [George Stanhope, 6th Earl of Chesterfield] is to be married to Miss Forester [Anne Elizabeth Weld-Forester]
