Mentions a John Ball going up in one and falling near St. Ives Balloon ascended from Northampton and fell in Moor End Meadow with the Aeoronauts going to Mr. G. Swannells, another attempt was made to reach Bedford and lowered over Felmersham, before a current of air drove it towards Moor End. Father health is stable though he is not able to walk far Complains that he works very hard but his father does not appreciate him Village is healthy with few cases of illness Elizabeth Lamb unwell, but Mr Lamb appears better Mr Gibbons built of Malting on Makehams Premises and Mr John Ball has built a warehouse in Henry Hunts Garden Mr Perry has a Brick and Tile yard at the New Parsonage Farm William Hart learning bakery business with Mr Malder, but has a hand injury and may lose a thumb. Father will not trust him to manage the farm and father is employing more men than they need. Describes routine at the farm - rises at half past four, help milk and feed pigs, calves and poultry, gathers vegetables, helps the girl with her chores, makes bread twice a week, works in the field or garden until milking time and then works with on parish matters or Father's books or yard until bed.
