- Scope and ContentWriter begins to revive from the freshness of the air and the quiet way of living, which she began to feel the want of before leaving London. Mr [Reginald] Carew is in London with daughter Harriet and son Joe, on account of an infalmation Harriet has had in her eyes. It is hoped they will return in a few days. Account of Miss Manningham does not read very promising; the writer fears there may be no material improvement since she last saw her. Has not received a letter from Mrs C Yorke [Harriet, nee Manningham]. Hopes Lady Lucas has received good accounts of Lord Grantham and is relieved from her anxieties about him. Wishes it were possible to look forward to a visit to Wrest, but does not at present know Mr Carew's movements. Thanks for offer of venison, which is accepted. Longs to hear of Lady Hardwicke's safe arrival in Ireland.
