The Joseph Yorkes have been at Shortgrove and return today. 'Your play answered very well and I was much amused and interested with the poor maid and magpie.' The Colletons have been in Town for a few days. Writer has a constant visitor in young Philip Yorke. 'His poor mother [Anna Maria] is not in a good way; Sir Henry Halford's opinion her is not very satisfactory - he says the lungs are not affected and he thinks she will do well after all but owns that she has sufficient to give great uneasiness to her friends and that her complaint is a general wasting away'. Sir Charles Pole is now better - it is not a liver complaint, of of the spleen.' Mrs Eliot was delivered at 6 months of a dead child, but is doing well.
