  • Title
Notes on Mollivers Wood. In 1651 it belonged to Sir Lewis Dyve and was part of his property forfeited for treason in that year. Sir Lewis was lord of the manors of Bromham, Bowels and Wakes and it is not possible to work out which manor the wood belonged to. It was possibly Bowels manor since the modern day scout camp on the next door piece of woodland is based in Bowels Wood. The origin of the name Mollivers has also proved impossible to trace. The wood is shown on a map of 1798 as Maulivers Wood. The wood passed from the Dyve family to the the Trevors and hence to the Wingfields.
