File contains the contract for the project. However CA2/885/3 shows that the contractor S. T. Harvey & Co limited started the works but went into liquidation during the project. V E Parrott (Oakley) limited were contracted to finish off the project.The work at the school involved erecting a single storey nusery and partially hearing unit. Contract was signed in 1976 between Bedfordshire County Council and S. T. Harvey & Co limited. S. T. Harvey & Co limited would do the works for £73,674.19. Abestos was used in the construction of the building. For example an Asbestos sheet was used. A conditions required by standing orders document is inside the file and there is a standard form of building contract for use with quantities. 3x Plans give details of the elevation and the site plan for the work. With in the file is the bill of quantities and it shows that asbestos was used in the building. Page 1/11 shows that vinyl asbestos tiles were used as a ground floor finish. Abestolux was used in the ceiling. Page 4/19 Abestos felt was used in the roof. Page 4/33 Asbestolux insulation board was used. Page 4/62 shows that Asbestos cement was used. Page 4/65 shows vinyl asbestos sheet was used.
