  • Scope and Content
    The school was being converted into a middle school that could acomodate 600 pupils. The file is about work dones on the toilets, boiler and changing rooms. Architects instructions show that the works were changed during the project. In addition when the work was completed there were defects to the building such as cracks on the boiler wall for instance. Correspondance shows that the contractors were asked to rectify defects. As part of the project extra radiators were fitted but their was a dispute over their cost. The boiler needed to be cleaned before work was done on it. Site meeting minutes show how the project progressed. Within the file their are several plans of the the work that took place. V E Parrott (Oakley) Ltd were chosen as the the contractor to make the alterations. Their bid was £39,839 and there are documents showing the tenders for the project with their bids. Notice was given for the the building plans to take place. Finally at the back of the file there is information on the projects cost. Neave Tinworth and Nunan chartered quantity surveyors estimated the works would cost £154,900.
