    '... in other respects they go on the same way, he at the [Forthampton] Court and she [Catherine] at the cottage, but they say the mischief of their seperate establishments is the dreadful deal of gossip and court like intrugue it causes..' The Edward Street Party [Colleton/Morel de Champemont] start today for Antony, where she intends to remain two months, but he only a fortnight then to proceed on tour, possibly as far as Scotland. 'I passed a whole evening in Monsieur le Comte's company for he has been told that it is not civil to leave the room nor to read when she has company and therefore he made hiself rahter agreeable and nothing in his manner or conversation to offend or displease in any way, but I cannot think him handsome and there is something repulsive in his smile...' [Refers to Alphonse Morel de Champemont]. Alphonse is delighted at the prospect of a baby, and Charlotte is in perfect health. Lady St Germans [Harriet Eliot] has gone to make a long visit to Port Eliot. Mrs Thomas Cocks heard a screaming in the nursery and found the nurse's bed curtains on fire. All escaped without injury, in their nightshifts. Comment on book writer is reading. Mr Floresi is going to Paris for a fortnight to settle his affairs. Writer feels he is running a risk to go there and will be glad t hear of his safe return. When in Paris he will resume his own name: he left his details in case the writer wished to communicate ant put the name of Arcais instead of Floresi.
