- Scope and ContentMrs Powell is at last confined safe and well with a healthy boy. [Mary Agnes Powell, nee Waddington gave birth to Thomas Harcourt Powell in 1821]. Thye Thomas Cocks's 'have been scarlatina-ed all through the family' - all are recovered except the oldest girl, and they expect her to be well soon. The Glanvilles are at Blackheath near them, but continue well as yet. [Refers to Francis Glanville ahnd family - his wife is Amabel, nee Carew]. Mrs Colleton's letter gives a good account of herself, she hopes the waters have been of service to her daughter Amabel in softening the lumps in the glands. Describes Amabel's treatment. Hope tomove soon and get a house in or near Geneva for a couple of months before proceeding further. 'What an unexpected event that the poor wretched Queen is really dead!
