  • Scope and Content
Has received a letter from Mrs Colleton in Paris. She does not admire the town in general, though says the public buildings are magnificent. She had visited some convents [gives details]. From Paris, Mrs Colleton proceeds to Switzerland. Lord & Lady St.German and Elizabeth Carew are at Worthing. Lord Hardwicke is now under the care of Dr Warren for his fainting attacks, and is now trying some medicines. This will require them remaining in Town. Fears Marianne [Mary Anne] Yorke is in a very bad way - her pulse constantly quick, a cough and a spitting of blood. The writer considered the case hopeless, though not immediate. Mrs Philip Yorke [Anna Maria] is coming to Portman Street for a few days before going to Forthampton, where she will stay until her new house is ready.
