- Scope and ContentHas consulted several workman and surveyors, but it is impracticable to repair the old parsonage house without incurring almost as much expense as a new one would amount to. The writer waited until his tithes were settled, in hopes of being permitted to mortgage the living to the full extent of expenses. Having agreed with parishioners, wrote to Miss Saville, assuming she would agree to a measure so advantageous to the preferrment. Encloses her repsonse, which frustrates all the writer's hopes. Has given orders to a builder to prepare everything for building a new house without delay, at the writer's expense. Unable to say how soon the new house will be finished. Sends good withes on the marriage of Lord Grantham [Marriage of Thomas Philip Robinson and Henrietta frances Cole]
