- Scope and ContentIndebted to her Ladyship for her generosity. Delighted with the situation, and look forward to residing there as soon as the necessary preparations are made. Through Mr Ware, the writer has expressed a wish to exchange about 4 acres of land belonging to Lady Lucas with the same area of glebe land for the following reasons: i ) Proposes to remove the house, which is decayed from neglect, to a spot within a few hundred yards of the church, instead of a mile, which is the present distance. ii) This would remove it from the near neighbourhood of a conventicle, which would be not a little unpmeasant. iii) A new house avoid the danger of the situation at present almost surrounded by deep moats, which to parents with a large family, must be very formidable. Asks that Lady Lucas consider his request. Has continued Mr Cooke in the curacy for the present, but has in mind to make some alterations to the duty of the church, which should be advantageous to the Parish. During the winter half year, Duty has been usually performed only once a day, whereas the writer proposes that there should be service twice a day through the whole year. Has written to Mr Riley to inform that Mr Alldis has been appointed by the writer to settle the business of dilapidations.
