[Jean] ‘Bernadotte is I suppose trusted by ministers for his being sincere.’ The Prince Regent [later George IV] has been very sociable with his ministers, dining at Lords Liverpool [Charles Jenkinson, 1st Earl of Liverpool] and Castleraegh [Robert Stuart, Viscount Castlraegh], and appearing in high spirits. The chancellor is to to give him a dinner; his birthday is to be at Windsor tomorrow – tonight Lord Yarmouth [Francis Charles Seymour-Conway gives a ball and Mr Ward gives a supper, his house adjoining Lord Yarmouth’s.
