Heard about the earthquake 'it seems to have been quite severe for England, as it stated chimneys fell down at St Ives Hunts', Rats Kellar beer evening 'the quaintest affair I have ever attended....' can't understand how the Germans can plead poverty when they have erected such pleasure palaces since the war.
