Interested in his description of the cafe 'it sounds very foreign but no doubt it has its charm when you are used to it.' Things going well at hme have 'sent the toms to Kirkham on Friday but they could not guarantee theirs getting through by goods & advised loading at Bedford Passenger - so we did that. Have not heard from them how they got on 89 bxs. Those sent to Naylor on Wednesday (74 bxs) by goods from Sandy got through alright & prices same as Tuesday - highest 11/-...Winnie brought the LMS account down...' Glad Will came 'as he got through the wages business with much less trouble than I could have done it - a very marked improvement from the last time he helped me to do it - but of course he is older & had some experience, still as you know - he does not do it quite so minutely as you do!' Visit of John's friend.
