    viz a) Lot 1: brick-built and slated dwelling house and grocer’s shop in the occupation of Henry Gamble, tailor and grocer, and a ¼ acre of garden ground with side entrance; the adjoining dwelling house and baker’s shop in the occupation of Mrs Dunton, baker, with a yard and wood-barn (timber and tiled), ¼ acre of garden ground, and a pump. (situated on the Shefford and Ampthill Road and let at rentals amounting to £18) b) Lot 2: brick-built and slated dwelling house and business premises in the occupation of William Smith at a rent of £8 per annum with yard, large piece of garden ground, and entrance through folding gates from the street c) Lot 3: brick-built and slated dwelling house and double fronted grocer’s shop in the occupation of of Richard Rider at a rent of £12 per annum with the yard containing a wash-house (timber and slated) and pump, warehouse with loft over (timber and slated), wood-shed (timber and tiled) and piece of garden ground; subject to joint use of the side entrance at the North end of the house and situated (Lot 3 i.e.) in Bridge Street North d) Lot 4: 4 brick and tiled houses with a piece of garden ground and joint use of the side entrance between c) and d); in the several occupations of John Bowers, James Ward, Mary Bowers and William Odell at rental amounting to £20 per annum; and situated in Bridge Street North e) Lot 5: 4 brick-built and tiled cottages with wood-barn, yard and garden to each; situated in Bridge Street North; and in the several occupations of William Stanton (collar-maker), James Carter, William Langton (carrier) and James Harwood (shoemaker) at rents amounting to £19 per annum (with joint use of the side entrance next the dwelling house in c)) f) Lot 6: 2 brick-built and slated houses with yard and garden to each, wood-barn (timber and tiled), 2 barns (timber and slated), stable (timber and thatched) and an open cart-shed enclosed from the yard by a palisade fence; in the occupation of Thomas Goss and William Earle at rents amounting to £10 per annum; and situated on the Shefford and Hitchin Road in the parish of Clifton g) Lot 7: 2 partly brick, lath, plaster and slated cottages in the occupation of Charles Woodward and James Smith with wash-house, small yard, piece of garden ground, and wood-shed (timber and tiled) to each; situated in Back Lane, Shefford; and let at rents amounting to £9 per annum The conditions of sale record that the purchase deeds by the late James Parrott bear the following dates:- Lot 1 (1827), Lot 3 (1822), Lot 4 (1816), Lot 5 (1812), and Lot 6 (1826) – and the conveyances to James Parrott of Lots 2 and 7 are dated 1842 [see X753/2] and 1838 respectively; give details regarding, inter alia, vendors’ requirements to deduce earlier title in respect of each and delivery to the purchaser(s) of Lots 1, 2 and 6 of an abstract of the title of the vendors [see X753/4 in respect of Lot 2] and Land Tax redemption contracts within 21 days of the sale; that a certificate by Mr Freeman and Mr A Haddow (present collectors of Land Tax at Shefford) shall be accepted as evidence of redemption of Land Tax chargeable on Lot 3; that the right of way reserved to Lot 5 shall be deemed as included with the ‘appurtenances’ in the purchase deed of that Lot; and details regarding a statutory declaration available to the purchaser(s) of due payment of the annuities, which have ceased (see X753/4 xviii) - xix)), under the will of Mrs Parrott
