West - London Road ... 1 rood part of Chalk Lane piece, forming part of Bury Farm in occupation of John Brett ... authority to dig chalk and brick earth from 1st 2 pieces land for the making of bricks and plain or ridge tiles, and white clay from the 3rd for making white clay pavings, floor bricks and clinkers, and to build a brick kiln on any part of said premises term - 7 years from 25 December last rent - lands - £12 per annum - privilege of digging clay on 1st 2 pieces for making any quantity of bricks up to 225,000 and 25,000 plain or ridge tiles, in any one year - £31..5s - for every 1000 plain or ridge tiles made on premises - 2s..6d - every 1000 bricks (over and above 225,000) - 2s..6d - every 1000 white clay pavings, floor bricks and clinkers made on premises - 2s..6d for those 6 in square - 5s for those 9 in square - 7s..6d for those 12 in square, and so on various covenants etc. including agreement by ii) to plough and manure land not used for brick making if brick earth is exhausted before end of 7 years, then power to determine lease signed: ii) endorsed witness: H W Jackson also endorsed with: Extension of Lease i) Marquess of Bute ii) John Williams i) leases to ii) ... premises as within written term – further 7 years from 25 December 1841 same rent, covenants as in main lease signed i) witness: Robert J Crosse 14 Jun 1836
