Marriage of Louisa Leveson Gower to Archibald MacDonald. The Duchess of Argyll was brought to bed of a son on Christmas day [John Douglas Edward Henry Campbell, later 7th Duke of Argyll]. When married, Annie Paterson is to live in Fifeshire at an estate of eight hundred a year Sir John Anstruther settled upon his son. This winter they will be in Edinburgh. Mrs Riddle has had a daughter. 'When you are once settled at Nice we shall write to each other more regularly.'
