- Scope and ContentThe longer Alexander can partake of the waters at Spa the more benefit he can expect. Elizabeth writes '...you may find that the effects of taking so much rhubarb lowers you. Yet I am perfectly convinced that nothing but purging and then a vomit, will entirely eradicate the bile, and the waters here will agree the better for your stomach being quite clear when you begin them.' We shall see who is here at the Ball tomorrow.
