reciting demise of 25 October 1622 by William Hobbs of Totternhoe and John, his youngest son, to James Ashwell of a close of pasture in Totternhoe and Eaton, formerly two closes known as Church Closes or Pightles, adjoining the churchyard. Also 4 acres and 3 roods in the fields of Totternhoe and Eaton, viz. 1 acre and 1 rood abutting on the land of Robert Robins, bounded West by the land of John Buckmaster, East, by the land of William Henchman, and South, by the land of Thomas Mitchell, gentleman. Two acres in Horsham Hill Field on Gould Hill, bounded East by the land of Thomas Evered, West, by that of Thomas Carter, and North, by the Icknell Way. Half an acre in Pinfould Field in Carter’s Furlong, bounded West by the land of Thomas Mitchell, East, by that of John Harrison, and North, by Drover’s Way. One acre lying in the Quarry Field under Rector’s Quarry, bounded South by the land of John Bucknam, West, by that of William Ashwell.
