    Various bequests including the messuage in which he now lives, his meadows in the common fields of Potsgrove, Crowley’s Close and a close called Chylderleys, and her third part of Lovell’s Bury and all the demesne which he bought of Mr Rufford, to his wife Isabel, for her maintenance and that of her two daughters until they come of age, paying no rent until his son Thomas reaches the age of 21 years. Various stipulations concerning the re-marriage of his wife, and bequests of £100 to his daughters Ellen and Ann on their marriage. Bequests to his brother Robert Harding, William Mayd his godson, and to his other brothers and sisters (unnamed). He appoints his brothers Richard and Thomas and John Saunders his executors, giving them power out of the sale of Lovell’s Bury to recompense the parties to various covenants recited below, should his son Thomas fail to fulfil these on reaching legal age: 1) a covenant with Thomas Sheppherd of Hockliffe concerning Leye, Bushe Close, Little Bushe Close, a pightle called Noman’s Land in Potsgrove, a tenement in Battlesden, a parcel of meadow in Milton. 21 May 1558. 2) a covenant with Richard Anderew of Eggington for a tenement in Clypson [Clipston] in Leighton Buzzard. 3) with Thomas Saunders of Marson [Marston] concerning a tenement on the back-side of the Cock in Hockliffe. Bequests in the form of remission of rent to tenants Richard Hvys [sic], William Godfrey and other tenants in Potsgrove. Stipulations concerning the occupation of land by executors, and for the distribution of doles to the poor. Bequests to John Draper, his servant, Thomas Harding of Cranfield, Richard Harding of Eversholt, Thomas Johnson, servant, William Layesse, John Maylins, servant, Siselly his maid, Elizabeth Carter, Isabel his wife, his brother John Harding of London, linen draper; William Harding and Robert Cooke to be overseers of will. witnesses: William Godfrey, Richard Hvyes, Richard Bandye 20 Jan 1558/9 proved 14 Apr 1559
