    His father John Baker built the cottage in Church Lane, Dean, where said William Baker now resides. Father voted in a Parliamentary election at Bedford in respect of the ownership of the cottage His father died in 1864 and by his will dated 12 March 1858 bequeathed real estate to son, said William Baker, on following conditions: - wife, Sarah Baker shall live in it for life - daughter, Rebecca Baker [sister of said William] shall have full and undisturbed occupation of the building now used by her as a shop and a bedroom adjoining aforesaid cottage, for life if she remains unmarried. If she leaves parish or marries she has no right to sell or let shop etc. Will was never proved because father had no personal estate after paying debts and expenses Mother, said Sarah Baker, died about 30 years ago. Sister some years ago left said cottage and subsequently died Neither father or himself have ever paid quitrent for said cottage
