- Scope and ContentWriter was fatigued by the long attendance yesterday [at the Douglas Cause]. The speaking began at 28 minutes past eleven o'clock, and the question was put at 4 minutes past 9 o'clock. The decree of the session against Mr Douglas was reversed without a division. Only 5 Lords spoke. Lord Sandwich went through all the evidence for 3 hours and 14 minutes, then the Chancellor for 2 hours and 32 minutes. The Duke of Bedford spoke for 32 minutes, and Lord Mansfield for 3 hours and 6 minutes. Comments about lectures on composition.
