- Scope and Content'He promises that when the Douglas cause is over, which is expected to be next week, that he will not fatigue himself about anything more this season.' A dreadful fire in the neighbourhood; a house opposite Lord Bute's in Audley Street was burnt to the ground. No lives were lost, but the family were unable to save anything. Mention of Mrs [Anne] Barry, who the writer considers very good in tragedy, but so-so in comedy. Has been told that Mr Gore's house and park is advertised to let. The present Mr Gore was very fond of the place and very glad that his Father did not sell it, so the writer can hardly believe he would let it.
