- Scope and ContentWilliam Cook: found at 6am that he had lost a donkey, one of eight, from his yard. Traced its footsteps to the Sundrdge road, and then from enquiries along the road was led to Biggleswade, where he found there was a fair. The donkey and James Catlin were pointed out to him; he put Catlin in the constable's charge. Daniel Hale: the day before "our Fair" Catlin offered to sell him a donkey. Some time afterwards Cook asked him if he had seen a white donkey and a a man with a striped waistcoat. He led Cook to Catlin.
