- Scope and ContentThe Douglas Cause began on Thrsday; the Lord Advocate spoke four hours each day on Douglas' side, and is to go on again today. [Relates to the inheritance of Archibald Douglas, 1st Duke of Douglas]. The House meets every morning by eleven, and rises a little after four, which is vastly better than meeting at two or three and not rising till eight. 'The Queen's birthday was very brilliant and very full of campany.' 'Mr Fordyce tells my Lord that it would be of great service to him to go to Geneva, as the air is so much better with you than it is here. You may believe that I shall make no objection to this journey, but this is not a time of year to think of such a thing.
