- Scope and ContentDescribes celebrations for the foundation of the Greenlaw market cross. 'There was a bowl of punch and ale from every public house in the town set round the cross, and every man, woman and child in the town drank your health .... there was also a fiddler and a piper. The drinking continued all day, and Mr Young was resolved to do all the honour to you he could.' Lists those who attended dinner after the event. Mr Ramsey is to remove very soon from the Broomlands, and has bought a house near Edinburgh. Mr Brehan's business continues and he is now famous for having the best horses on the road. Andrew St.Clair's wife has been brough to bed of a son - it is their first child and the family are extremely happy.
