Letter from Thomas Cockburn to Alexander Hume-Campbell, 1st Baron Hume of Berwick. Sent from Rowchester. A 'very tedious election' which ended in favour of Mr Hugh Scott by a great majority of 50 to 35. The last made votes out of the Marchmont Estate and many others could not be made because the entitlements were not a year old.
