Letter from Thomas Cockburn to Alexander Hume-Campbell, 1st Baron Hume of Berwick. Sent from Edinburgh. Factory accounts, a work of great labour have been finished and were delivered to Mr Wauchope for the Knight's examination at Marchmont house. The writer declined to attend the eximination. The balance on the factory accounts is about £630. Some details given.

Went last Tuesday to get new qualification completed, so will be on the Roll. Response to questions in a letter from his Lordship relating to accounts and the witnessing of documents. Asks if his Lordship has a copy of his marriage articles. 'As to entail, I think it cannot be done to your prejuduce without your consent.' Gives further opinions and information relating to marriage articles and heritable bonds. Mention of the health of Lord Breadalbane.
