[Refers to marriage of Sir Philip Anstruther (later Anstruther-Paterson), 3rd Baronet and Anne Paterson, daughter of Sir John Paterson, 2nd Baronet and Anne Hume-Campbell, Baroness Polwarth, who was half sister of the addressee Alexander Hume-Campbell]. The farms that came out of lease give more rent, some considerably.
