- TitleExamination of Thomas Quick of Luton, labourer: works for Charles Tomson at the Brach Farm. His young mistress came to him in the garden and said someone was worrying the ducks and asked him to go and see about it. Went down towards the New Cut and saw two men trying to catch a dark-coloured duck. Their clothing described - one wore a cap and one "an old straw hat". Went to the spinney with George Hogg and found two dead ducks, still warm. Later that day the same two men came past his master's farm, and Thomas Worsley told him that one was Brewer - the other he knew to be Joseph Fensom.
