- TitleExamination of Richard Markes Brown the younger of Luton, Quaker: was standing with William Wood at the mill door when he saw two men going down by the "New Cut". He sent Wood "up above to watch them" and went into the meadow where he saw the two men driving "three of Mr Tomson's ducks" down the cut. Soon afterwards Brewer walked away with apparently one or two dead ducks in his hand and went into a spinney close by. Thomas Quick went by, and on seeing him the two men made off.
