Next Saturday sennight writer proposes to go to Stebbing to take possession of new preferment; will stay a few days if the weather is fine. Wonders if it would be advisable to apply to the present Chancellor for the promise of the first available tolerable Living that should fall into his gift within 30 miles of Colchester [for Charles Smyth]. Sorry to receive a bad account of the health of Lady Marchmont.
