- Date free textApril 1830
- Production dateFrom: 1830 To: 1830
- Scope and ContentJoseph Balls and William Walker were convicted of stealing 38 or 40 fowls from his henhouse at Thorncote at the last assizes. It was known then that William Jeeves was with them at the time of the robbery, but he was not arrested until later. On his way to the Justice in the custody of Henry Jeeves, constable, William Jeeves asked to be forgiven and offered to "agree to any terms to pay anything" if Gillions would let him off. Gillions refused, saying that it was out of his power and "as you have got in you must get out".
