  • Title
Letter from Mary Yorke to Lady Lucas, sent from Tyttenhanger. Encloses Agneta Yorke's letter with comments about Tyttenhanger [not present]. The writer has amended it and denied some of it's aspersions, however thinks the house would be cold without great efforts in keeping up large fires, not only in the rooms, but particularly in the hall, and keeping the doors shut as much as possible in the rooms. The ground near the house is very wet for want of proper drainage; there is at present quite a ponding and the writer cannot walk on it. However there are about 20 yards of stone pavement close to the house between the two wings.
