- Scope and ContentWriters plans for the summer; when son Joseph and family might visit, and convenient times for Lady Lucas to stay. Writer intends to go to Malvern for a fortnight. Lord & Lady Eliot intend staying a Forthampton for a night or two at the beginning of July to collect Miss Beauchamp and take her to Down Ampney to meet her aunt Mrs [Agneta] Yorke. Mistake about Mr Eliots new born boy, which the writer took to be 'the produce' of his present lady. As for young Mr Eliot, his death would indeed have been an irreperable loss. Dr Baillie considers Thomas Waddington is going on as well as can be expected. Reference to the progress of baby Eleanor Henrietta Robinson. Mention of Jacqueline Hompesch. Reference to the marriage of Sir Galbraith Lowry-Cole and Frances Harris, daughter of James Harris, 1st Earl of Malmesbury.
