- Scope and ContentThe writer is enquiring whether the labouring poor of England are for or against a peace with Bonaparte. Has set her enquiries to the manffacturing towns of the area - Birmingham, Worcester and Tewkesbury, and amongst her own labourers, who seem indifferent on the subject. Believes that the workers in the towns would be glad of a peace from the fear of provisions growing still dearer than they are. The writer is of the same opinion as Lady Lucas, that all ranks except the very lowest are against the peace. Additional comments mad, including reference to fall in prices of stocks. Mention of the wedding of Princess Charlotte.
