- Scope and ContentReference to Lady Lucas' visit to Horkesley and Mile End. Writer was invited for dinner with 'a very agreeable family of the name of Parsons, maiden ladies', one of whom had met Lady Lucas at Mrs Weddal's in Town. The dinner consisted of two courses with 13 dishes in each. They requested Lady Lucas might mention to the young Lady Grantham to recommend a niece of theirs, married to a Captain Montgomerie with the 1st Dragoons now at Sligo barracks, to the notice of Owen Wynne and his wife Lady Sarah, lady Grantham's sister. The barracks are 2 miles from Mr Wynnes, and they wish to be called upon, to distinguish them from the other officers families. The engravings Lady Lucas selected for Miss Beauchamp were just the things to please her and improve her art. The writer will leave the three volumes of the novel and the extracts from Bruce when she leaves.
